Dear Friends and Family,
Jana and I want to thank you for the love and support that you show our family. We are grateful for the time and resources that you have invested in us. We are writing you to share about our newest adventure.
Over fifteen years ago, I felt compelled to enter into vocational ministry. I now understand this moment was far less about becoming a pastor and far more about being a Christ-follower (going where He says and doing what He says no matter the cost). My hope is to always embody the words that read, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8, NLT).
After ten incredible years of youth ministry, we are moving back to the Tri-Cities this month in order to launch Blue Bridge Church. We have felt nudged by God to lead a team (largely made up of several individuals and families moving from all over the Northwest) devoted to making disciples in Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick. We never saw ourselves returning to our hometown. However, after completing my Masters program, sharing several heart-to-heart conversations with my lead pastor, and taking a few prayer retreats, we felt overwhelmed with giving up everything in order to love, grow, and serve the Tri-Cities.
We will plant in the right time and in the right way. We have been blessed by Maltby Christian Assembly, backed by the Northwest Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God, and supported by several churches. We will honor other local churches while still becoming the faith-community we are supposed to be.
We cannot accomplish this alone. We are asking for partners who will financially support and pray for the plant of this new church community. We ask that you consider being one of those partners in ministry.
First, will you join us in praying for the right location, diverse leadership, and adequate funds? One of our goals is that our first water baptism takes place even before our first weekly gathering in January.
Second, will you give generously towards our prelaunch expenses? We have already raised over $110,000 in five months. We need an additional $90,000 over the course of the next five months (these funds include all portable equipment, salaries, operational expenses, and promotional materials needed to ensure that the church immediately shows radical generosity towards the Tri-Cities from the beginning). Give online (either through a one-time or reoccurring gift) or by sending checks (made out to Blue Bridge Church) to PO Box 96 / Richland, WA 99352.
Jana and I look forward to sharing with you more of the story and strategy behind Blue Bridge Church. We can be reached at (509) 627-9961 or at (509) 627-9962. Our new home address is 5902 Robert Wayne Dr. / Pasco, WA 99301). Thank you for playing such a crucial part in this exciting journey.
