Our family’s journey through children’s classics continues. We recently followed up The Chronicles of NarniaThe Hobbit, and Hatchet with Phyllis Reynolds Naylor’s Shiloh.

This might have been their favorite so far!  The author wrote, “Funny how one lie leads to another and before you know it, your whole life can be a lie” (548).

I noticed that there is also a film adaptation of the book that was released back in 1996.  Was the movie any good?

And now we continue on in our journey through Newbery Award winners.  Next stop: Holes.

Any other children’s literature we should check out?
