I would recommend J. Ellsworth Kalas’ Preaching in an Age of Distraction. I was provided a copy through a special release directly from the publisher for the purpose of an online review. You can purchase a directly from Inter-Varsity Press.
My favorite quote is captured with this particular picture. What are your thoughts?
I love the time in which we live. Sure, there are the fair share of challenges to the (presentation) of the gospel. Clutter. Distraction. Consumption. Relativism. And so much more. Yet, with every culture and context comes the opportunity to share and show the story of God. To connect the dots. To make room for the Holy Spirit. To see Christ.
In the midst of the failures and frustrations, let’s not forget the awesome privilege and responsibility we have to be messengers. Not just preachers, by the way. Every believer is called and equipped to be a disciple-maker. And yet to pastor. To preach. What an honor! Even in the midst of the distractions.
