I would recommend John Piper’s The Pleasures of God: Meditations on God’s Delight in Being God. I was provided a copy through a special release of the revised edition (directly from the publisher for the purpose of an online review).
My favorite quote is captured in this particular picture. What are your thoughts?
As I have stated before, I do not fully embrace Reformed Theology by any stretch, but I do appreciate the emphasis such authors place on God’s rule and reign. The story begins and ends with him. He is the Story. He invites us into his story. We were created to enjoy him. To glorify him. Though I do not fully agree with many of his conclusions, I always take so much away from Piper’s writings. He approaches the Biblical text with such humility and honor. A great place to begin the conversation.
Check it out and let me know what your takeaway is.
