I recently read (and would recommend) David McCullough’s The Path Between the Seas: The Creation of the Panama Canal, 1970-1914. Path Between is yet another reason why this author continues to be one of my personal favorites.
One of the best quotes can be found on my Instagram account. McCullough is not just a masterful storyteller (though his writing has greatly improved since some of these earlier works) but he also is absolutely genius when selecting a historical achievement or personality. Every time I read one of his works I think about all these specific individuals or entire generations have to overcome (with limited resources and impossible odds).
Check out the book and let me know what you think….
